Happy First Day Back at School and Happy 2017!

We started our day by each sharing something we did over the break! We then were introduced to our new friends in our class! We are all very excited to have new friends! In math we focused on elapsed time (the time between two events) and learned an awesome new strategy to use when calculating elapsed time using mountains, hills, and rocks!

In language we worked on our reflection skills by thinking about 2016 and writing out our favourite memories, and something that we are proud of from last year! We then looked forward and created new (realistic) goals for the new year! We were thinkers and reflective about the new yer ahead!

After lunch, recess, and French, we had UOI where we began by reviewing key concepts and moving on to learn about mechanical energy! The students were amazing at being inquirers and using books to learn about energy and came up with many examples for mechanic

al energy!

We ended the day with some additional time to work on UOI and then we had some people in the class share some special things with us! Jasmeet went away for the holiday and brought back some amazing things such as sea shells and banana leaves to share with the class! Krina was an inquirer! She performed experiements over the holidays related to forces and motion and brought two in to share with us! Way to go Krina and thank you for teaching us!

Thank you so much for having students complete homework over the break-I can see how hard students were working!
