Happy 100th Day Parents!

We had a fantastic day here in third grade! We began the day with math where we used the number 100 (since it is the 100th day of school-can you believe it!?) and separated it into different even groups with fruit loops to determine fractions! We were able to show 1/2 of 100, 1/4 of 100, 1/5 of 100, and some groups could even show 1/10 of 100, and 1/20 of 100! They all worked so hard!

In language the class was provided with time to work on their poems! They were working in partners, and then at the end of the language period I watched a few of the students perform their poem! Some students still need a little bit more practice, and they will be presenting on Tuesday so please have the students work really hard over the long weekend to be prepared!

After lunch, recess, and French the class came back and we spent UOI painting pictures of what we think the world will look like in 100 years. We had some amazing ideas from flying cars to floating buildings! The pictures turned out so beautiful and they loved working with paints!

After second lunch and recess we had out spelling test, and students completed agendas before heading off to gym. We ended the day with a quick freeze dance party before heading off to kiss and ride!

Important Information:

  • Math Homework page 152-153
  • (make corrections to 150-151)
  • Reading comprehension (the work is stapled to the inside of the comprehension notebook)
  • Community Book (the requirements are inside of the book as a checklist-they are to be completed for Tuesday)
  • Practice Poem (students will be performing and judged in class on Tuesday)
  • Sign and Return Math Test (the agendas have included spelling test but I didn't have them marked in time to send them home-sorry!)

Have a wonderful and relaxing long weekend!
