We had an amazing and interactive day here in third grade! We began the day with our assembly where we found out how much the school raised in total! We raised over $11,000! That is amazing! We also found out our April Balanced Winners! Caitlyn in our class was awarded with the Balanced award!
When we returned to class we learned about angles, we learned that there are vertices (where two lines meet on the outside of a figure) and angles (where two lines meet on the inside of a figure), we learned about right angles, angles bigger than right angles, and angles less that right angles! The class showed their understanding by walking around the school with the tablets and taking pictures of angles that they saw!
In language we continued with our story presentations! They are so amazing and I am very proud of all of the hard work and dedication that has gone into these stories! The students personalities are shinning through their writing!
After lunch, recess, and French we came back to class and began our new UOI unit. We first brainstormed what we know about soil, and what we would like to know about soil. Then we went outside and took a soil sample from somewhere in the yard. When we got back to class we looked at our soil, felt our soil, and even touched it! We got a little messy! The class is very excited about our new unit! Especially when we found a worm in the soil that we have decided to keep in the classroom in a jar (his name is noodles), we will see if he likes his new soil home! That class was asking so many amazing questions including "what do worms eat?,", "what is soil made out of?", "what are the different parts of soil?"
After second lunch and recess we ended the day with music and gym before heading off to kiss and ride.

Have a wonderful evening!
