Good Afternoon Parents!
We have had an amazing (and busy!) first day!
First the students had gym class with Mr. H. Afterward they went to music with Mr. Andrei. When the students returned to class we established some very important rules together for our classroom (i.e., be respectful) some students had some great suggestions (don’t skip class!), but I think it was great to come up with the rules together to ensure all students feel as though this classroom is their home away from home where they feel safe and comfortable to participate. We then played “get-to-know-you” with starburst, which the kids all loved and were all very good at participating and interacting with one another. After recess and lunch we came back to the room and had a scavenger hunt to make sure we have talked to everyone in the class at least once. Next the class made their way down to French with Madame Stella. The afternoon consisted of games, “first day” pictures, agendas, and a house game before packing up for home.
I want to thank parents for being so considerate and helpful for the first day back, it is such a pleasure getting to know each one of your children and I am looking forward to an amazing year.
Important notes:
1. Due to gym class scheduling we ask parents to please send their child to school in their gym uniforms (we always have gym first thing in the morning), please bring uniforms in a separate bag to school and the children will change into their uniforms after gym class. Please have your child practice buttoning and unbuttoning uniform attire at home!
2. For music I have sent home a permission form for your child to participate in recorders. Please send back the signed form along with the money for the recorder as soon as possible.
3. Please also make note that lunch money for the hot lunch program is due by Friday September 9th.
4. Your child will not need binders this year, we have everything we need in the classroom, and should they need any extra supplies I will ensure that I send an email home to parents.
Thank you again,
Warmest Regards,
Ms. Glover
