Happy Monday Parents!
We had a really great day today in Grade 3! We began the day
with Gym with Mr. H. The routine of coming to school in gym clothes is working
nicely. We then had math where we began our unit on Patterns in Adding and
Subtracting. We also started our Daily 5 routine today which was exciting!
After lunch and recess we worked on our spelling words for
the week. The students then went to French and when they came back we working
on proper comma use with macaroni noodles! They had a lot of fun using the
noodles to place the commas in the proper part of the sentence!
After second and last recess we learned about our Learner
Profile Attribute of the month-Inquirers, by reading a story together as a
class. We discussed people we know that are inquirers, our parents, or
fictional characters-Arthur, Dora, Scooby Doo etc. Afterward we worked on our
Math together, as I felt some of the students could use my one-on-one help!
Some important notes:
-the students do have math homework if they did not finish
it in class (pg. 28-29) in their math notebooks. They should need very little
assistance to do this.
-They also received their spelling workbooks. This week we
are working on Lesson 1 (Those working at in the Grade 4 book are working on
Lesson 1 as well). The activities are to be completed at home throughout the
week to help the students get accustomed to the weekly spelling words and
practice writing them. This work isn’t due until Friday ( when we will have our
test).
-Please bring in the BBQ forms if you are planning on
attending, they are due by Wednesday, September 14th.
Warmest Regards,
Ms. Glover
