Happy Thursday Parents!
We began our math lesson today with learning how to properly
collect data. We learned that we must make sure to ask four very important
things:
1.
What do we want to know?
2.
What question will we ask?
3.
Who will we ask?
4.
How will we show what we learned?
We then practiced answering these questions by conducting a
short survey in our class about our favourite seasons. We then graphed the data
with both a bar graph and a pictograph.
In language we began with a short quiz to ensure that students
understand key concepts and content. Afterwards we read the next chapter where
Laura’s cousin is stung by bees after continuously misbehaving. We worked in
our journals to compare the story of Charley to the story of the Boy Who Cried
Wolf. We discussed the lesson or moral of both of the stories as well.
After lunch, recess, and French we began our UOI unit on
Pioneers! The students are very excited to begin this unit and I am so excited
to inquire with them, explore with them, and learn with them!
Today we focussed
on what we already know, and what we want to learn. Students looked through our
new class library of pioneers to decide what they would like to learn! We then
had some time to spend playing traditional pioneer games, we played cat’s cradle,
and then we played find the thimble.
After second lunch and recess we completed an essential IB
survey as a class for our upcoming evaluation!
At the end of the day we had time to finish organizing our
IB binders and then completed agendas before heading off to kiss and ride!
