Pictures from the Promotion Ceremony!

Hello Parents!

If anyone took pictures from the promotion ceremony, I would love to have a copy of them! If you could please email them to me that would be much appreciated!

Happy First Weekend of SUMMER!

We had a fantastic last day of third grade! We started by having an assembly and finding out which house won the house cup! Kappa! (still rooting for Theta next year!)

Afterward we came back to class and I gave the students their mend-of-year gifts! Each student received a book that I picked especially for them with a note inside to remind them how much I enjoyed having them in my class!

We then presented the end-of-year class awards which reflect the amazing personalities of each and every student.

During the middle part of the day we watched The Secret Garden as a class and compared the book to the movie (many amazing comments about the differences!)

We ended the day with a house game before heading off to kiss and ride!

What a wonderful day!

I just wanted to end this post by thanking all of the amazing parents that I had the pleasure of getting to know this year! Without each and every one of you I would not have had the amazing year that I had! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

A special Note to the Dad's:

Happy Father's Day today! The students loved making gifts for you over this past week. I hope they all spoil you on this day and every day! Thank you for always being supportive and encouraging, it has allowed each and every one of the students to come so far!

Have a wonderful summer filled with love, laughter, and happiness!

Happy Thursday Parents!

We only have ONE day left in third grade! We began our day today with our regular morning meeting, students have mentioned how they are going to miss the morning meetings and time we have been able to share together each morning.

We then worked on a super secret Father's Day activity! Students brought them home tonight-Don't open until Sunday!

We then had time to complete another super-secret end of the year task! Students wrote special notes to teachers or staff in the school that have made a difference for them this year and then they personally delivered them! The teachers and other staff members were so happy that they were recognized!

After French we had more time to work on super-secret Father's Day surprises!

We ended the day with music, and gym before kiss and ride!

Important Reminders:

  • Tomorrow is the last day of school! It is a full day (3:45 end time)
  • Tomorrow is house colours day! (show your support on this last spirit day of the year!)

Have an amazing night!

What an AMAZING Wednesday!

We began our day with the promotion ceremony where I was so lucky to hand out the certificates to my amazing Grade 3's who are becoming Grade 4's!

Today we also had time to read the rest of The Secret Garden! I am so proud of all of the connections that the class made! They were able to talk about the themes of the story and use details from the text to support their ideas. I really was blown away! They mentioned that the garden was magic and it healed the main characters (lots of higher level thinking going on!)

During the middle part of the day we worked on a summer bucket list! Students were reflective as they made 3 goals: one academic, one personal, and a learner profile goal. Students wrote goals on a bucket and coloured it!

We ended the day with some classroom clean-up (I have given back notebooks and workbook etc. they stay at home!) and gym before completing agendas and heading off to kiss and ride!

Important Reminders:

  • Tomorrow is Jersey day!
  • Friday is our LAST day! (it is a FULL day) and it is house colours day!

Have a wonderful evening!

Happy Tuesday Parents!

We began our day with the kindergarten to Grade 2 promotion ceremony! It was great to see all of the hard work that the students have put in pay off!

We then came back to class and had a few more plants and soil presentations.

The afternoon was spent cleaning out our note books and placing work into our IB binders! Students have also taken home most of their workbooks and notebooks! The class is feeling so empty and it is making me so sad to see all of the work go!

At the end of the day we had time to practice for the promotion ceremony tomorrow morning at 9:00am!

Important Reminders:

  • Aftercare fees are now overdue (students will not receive their reports until aftercare fees are paid)
  • Promotion Ceremony tomorrow at 9:00 am! Wear formal clothes
  • Read 25 minutes
  • Thursday Jersey day!
  • Friday House colours!

Have a wonderful night!

Happy Monday Parents!

There is one more week left of school in Grade 3! We began our day this morning with a presentation by some of the grade 6 students on internet safety! What a wonderful presentation it was-interactive and informative. I am very proud of the class as they already knew how to be safe when playing games online and to always talk to parents about the internet.

Afterwards students were provided with time to practice for their summative presentations. We managed to get through most of the presentations today, with many reminders of what it means to be a good, respectful audience (I think we are getting antsy for the end of the year!).

After second lunch and recess we ended the day with more presentations, gym (inside of course!) and agendas before heading off to kiss and ride!

Important Reminders:

  • Tomorrow is a casual day for us (promotion ceremony for the k-2 students)
  • Wednesday is our formal attire day (dresses/skirts, dress pants, nice shirts etc).
  • Thursday is Jersey day!
  • Friday is House colours day!
  • Please remember to hand in all aftercare fees, they are now late and students will not receive their report cards if they have outstanding fees.
  • Please bring in a plastic or reusable bag for students to start bringing home their extra clothes, shoes, work, etc.
  • Aftercare fees need to be submitted or report cards will not be released

Have a wonderful evening!

Happy Friday Parents!

This time next week we will be ending our school year! Today we began our day with students completing the reflection sheets for their report cards. Students spoke about what they have learned during our final term, a learning profile attribute they have showed, and something they would like to work on as they head into grade 4!

Afterwards students worked on their reflection for our My Garden unit! Students reflected on a time that they were a thinker throughout this unit and drew a picture.

After lunch, recess, and French, Students worked on their summative assignments (most finished them and had plenty of time to practice for their presentations on Monday)

After second lunch and recess we ended the day with music, gym, and agendas before heading off to kiss and ride!
