Happy Tuesday Parents!
We began our day with math where we started by taking up the
work from yesterday’s class! I let the students use my red pens and they were
very excited about that! We then worked on telling time, most students remember
how to tell time from previous years but some are still having trouble with the
minute hands! As a result I am dividing the lesson into two parts and tomorrow
we are discussing telling time in a different way (half past, quarter to etc.).
In language we discussed inferencing or making conclusions
based on evidence from the text and using our own background knowledge. We read
a story and answered a couple questions as a class on the carpet and then
students read riddles and guessed a place that the author is trying to
describe. This is going to help them while they are reading stories on their own!
After recess and lunch we had a very exciting UOI where we
were able to work on the tablets to complete a scavenger hunt! We were all
inquirers and researchers and used our resources to answer questions and come
up with some amazing facts about forces and motion to share with the class. I
am so proud of all of their hard work and they LOVED having access to the
technology!
After French, second lunch and recess, we watched some
really amazing videos that were brought in by a student in Ms. Ross’s class
about forces and motion to help us gain a better understanding of key concepts
such as gravity and friction.
We ended the day with gym and agendas before heading off to
kiss and ride
