Happy Monday Parents!

We had a very busy day here in grade 3! We began our day with Math where each student received a whiteboard and were required to draw base ten blocks to represent a 3-digit number. Then we did the opposite, I drew the base ten blocks on the board and the students wrote down on their mini whiteboard the number value. The class then filled out a chart where they had to write the number, draw the base ten blocks, and write which number was in the hundreds, tens, and ones columns.

For language we continued working on our Science Fair project, we came up with a class conclusion, and then we had an “Inquiry Break” students wrote down questions that they wondered and then they used their balloon cannons to answer those questions. The students worked so well that we had time to go outside and shoot our cannons to see how high rocks would go!
After lunch, recess, and French the class came back for UOI where some began constructing their summative assignments. Some were finishing the planning stage, some began their dioramas, some began their diary entries, and some began their posters! Those students that are doing videos worked on their script and props lists that they will need to do their videos at home. We continued working on our summatives after second lunch and recess before heading off to gym.
We finished the day with agendas before heading off to kiss and ride!

Important Reminders:
  • Math homework page 16/17
  • Spelling Due Friday (Lesson 11)
  • Read 25 minutes
  • Book orders/December Lunch forms due
  • Summatives are due Friday: They are completed in class (With the exclusion of students who have chosen to do a video-for those that are doing a video that means that the video needs to be brought in on a USB or emailed to me by Friday). If you have not brought in materials for the summative assignment (if you are doing a diorama) they need to be brought in tomorrow.

Have a wonderful evening!
