Happy Thursday Parents!

We had a great day in grade 3! We began our day with math games! First we played a scavenger hunt where we had to go around the room and fill in numbers from base ten blocks. Then we worked in groups and played different games that refreshed our memory of place value. The students had a lot of fun!

We then continued working on our science project. We ran the experiment again to make sure our data is correct! Our knowledge of making bar graphs came in handy as we transferred all of our data into amazing bar graphs with all of the important information! The students are very excited for parents to see all of the hard work!

After lunch, recess, and French the students were provided time to work on their pioneer summative planners. Students are still writing about the day in the life of a pioneer using all of their knowledge from the unit! I have sent home a summative rubric that will be used to assess the student’s final products. Please make note that if your child is doing a poster or diorama they need to bring in the materials to start creating their final projects on Monday!

We ended the day with gym where the class gave me a special surpriase and wrote my name with their bodies- I think they did a great job!

We then did agendas before heading off to kiss and ride!

Important reminders:
  • Read 25 minutes
  • Spelling test tomorrow (lesson 10)
  • Holiday fundraiser money due tomorrow
  • Clothing drive donations due tomorrow
  • Summative supplies for Monday
  • Our field trip is tomorrow!
    • Students are to wear their gym clothes (please make note it is supposed to be warm and sunny tomorrow-a t-shirt under a sweater would be best). Students are also to pack a disposable lunch meaning that the students will not have their lunch bags with them for the trip- they will throw away the bag after they eat so they have nothing to carry! Students are to bring a backpack to school (to pack homework in for the weekend) but these will not be on the trip with us-students need to bring a disposable water bottle as well. Thank you for your understanding-it should be a really fun day!

Have a wonderful evening,

Ms. Glover
