Happy Monday Parents!

Today we began with Math, we are learning more about data management and graphing. Today we focussed on interpreting circle graphs (or pie charts). The students looked at a series of circle graphs and identified what they represented. We are going to focus more on interpreting graphs this week, some students are still having trouble with Venn Diagrams as well, as a result I will be sending home another Venn Diagram Sheet in order to have students practice.

As a reminder, there are two loops in a Venn Diagram, in one loop there is one specific characteristic (i.e., blue shapes), the other loop represents another characteristic (i.e., all squares), and in the overlap goes the items with both characteristics or attributes (items that are blue AND square).
In language we read chapter 8 of LHBW where Laura and her family went to Grandpas house for a dance. After reading we worked on writing formal invitations to go to Grandpa’s house. The students were required to use their best writing skills, including proper punctuation and spelling in order to complete their letters.

For spelling this week we have a review week, that being said the students spelling words are not in their agendas. They will be required to complete the Lesson 6 work in their workbooks and then for their test I will select certain words for the students to be tested on. That way the students will refresh their memory on all of the words we have learned so far.

After Lunch and recess the students had French, when they came back they were provided with more time to work on their UOI brochures as some students haven’t finished their pictures, those that were finished worked on their letters.

After second lunch and recess the students had music. After music the students were provided with some class time to practice their UOI presentations. We had time to complete some of the UOI brochure presentations, so far the students hard work is really paying off! Stay tuned for some of the videos!
We then completed our agendas before heading off to kiss and ride.
