Happy Weekend Parents!
I am sorry for the late update! Friday we began our day with assembly where the knowledgeable month award winners were given their awards! Our friend Ali was voted by our class as the most knowledgeable, way to go Ali!

In math we continued our unit on measurement; we worked on measuring distances in meters. We began with an activity and then had a measuring scavenger hunt where the students were required to measure different things in the classroom with meter sticks!
 Working on measuring!

In language we completed the OWA post-assessment. Students wrote a narrative about the day that they turned invisible, I think that all of our hard work on story writing and descriptive writing really prepared the students as the narratives were very creative and well-written.

Here is Emana when we looked at my mystery bag and described items to work on our descriptive writing!
Here is Caitlyn who also volunteered to describe an item in the mystery bag to work on our descriptive skills!

In UOI we finished building our log cabins! The students assed grass around their houses, some gardens or rivers and other things that pioneers would have around their house! It is amazing to see the creativity and hard-work that the class has put into their houses and I can’t wait to post pictures of the finished products!
Just might have to do more crafts with these hands-on, creative, eager kids!

Hard at work!

Our log cabins look good enough to eat!

These were the houses on Thursday! I will post pictures of the finished product soon-so proud of all of the students hard work!

The end of the day students had their spelling test before gym and agendas. It has been such a great week in grade 3!

Important Reminders:
  • Math Homework: pg 160-161
  • Sign and return spelling test
  • Complete reading comprehension (only write in notebook)
  • Students can wear their Halloween costumes on Monday! Please do not bring weapons of any kind to school. If students choose not to wear a costume they are more than welcome to wear orange and black or casual wear.
  • All outstanding fees for aftercare need to be paid, as they are now late.

Have a wonderful weekend!
