Good Afternoon Parents and Happy Wednesday!

We are halfway through the week and we had an amazing day in Grade3. We began with gym, and then the students worked diligently on their math work. I cannot believe how much our class accomplished today in math. They worked so well as a class and I couldn’t be more proud!

In language we worked on comma and capitalization sentences, and I will be marking these to see if we need to spend more class time on the topics. After Language we had Daily 5, where they students worked on word work, writing, and reading.

At the end of the day we wrote in our agendas and continued our unit on Manners and Safety by Inquiring about being a good friend. We asked the question, “What makes a good friend” we then read a story about being a good friend, and what actions we can take in order to be a good friend to our classmates. We finished with journaling about what a good friend looks like, feels like, and sounds like.

Important Reminders:

-Students have been assigned page 32 and 33 in their Math Makes Sense workbook as homework tonight. It is on subtraction strategies. They should know this and need little assistance. If you do help your child complete the questions please make a note in the workbook so I can know where your child may need more assistance so I can work 1-on-1 with them.

-St. Jude’s is having a contest to see how many people in our class can have labelled and proper uniforms, please label each article of your child’s clothing so that there are no mix-ups. Especially with the students changing and matching clothes, names are necessary to keep the uniforms in order.

The class with the most labelled uniforms gets a pizza party!

-Tomorrow is library day! If your child has brought a book home from the library please have them bring it back to the school so that they can exchange it. If they would like to renew their book please
have them bring it back and let me know. Thank you!

-I have sent home many different opportunities for students get involved in afterschool programs we have everything from piano to dance, yoga, karate, and computer coding. Please take a look at the forms that I have sent home!

I hope to see you all at tomorrow night’s BBQ at St. Jude’s from 4-6pm!

Have a wonderful evening,

Ms. Glover
