Happy Thursday Parents!

Another great day here in grade 3, we began with gym and music. In math we were working on related facts and fact families and we built fact family triangles to demonstrate our thinking!

At the library the children seemed really engaged in a book about Terry Fox, so I am hoping that we will get time to inquire further about who he was, what he did, and why he did it. The interest that they took was really amazing to see!

In language we began working on learning how to write a narrative, we read a story and dissected each of the important components in preparation for the students to write their own narrative.

In UOI we began planning out our own story, we are all writing friendship stories to coincide with our unit on manners and safety and to show our understanding of responsibility as good friends.

We finished the day with agendas and some housekeeping items!

Some important reminders:

-Math homework tonight it on page 34/35 of the Math Makes Sense Workbook, it is about related facts, we had lots of practice in class today so it shouldn’t be difficult for them to complete.

-We have a spelling test tomorrow! Please have your child practice tonight, and bring in their completed spelling workbook to show that they have been working with the words thougthout the week.

-Please label all articles of your child uniform (including socks)! The class with all of the articles of clothing labelled gets a pizza party!

-If you would like your child to partake in any of SJA’s amazing after school activities please fill out and hand in the forms I sent home yesterday!

-Book orders have been sent home today. If you would like to order something from Scholastic please send back the form with a cheque or place your order online. To order online simply go to the website https://parentpay.scholastic.ca/pay and fill in the four fields: province, city, school (St Judes Academy - no period or apostrophe) and teacher (Dawn Goulart).
