Good afternoon Parents and Happy Thursday!
We began our day today with an interactive lesson on Venn
Diagrams, using hulahoops as our circles on the floor we categorized different
coloured shape blocks based on their differences and similarities. The students
had a lot of fun with this as they were able to use manipulatives to create the
Venn Diagrams.
After math we moved onto language, we read the next chapter
of LHBW titled “Two Big Bears”. The students then reflected or wrote a story
about being scared. They were encouraged to use as many describing words as
possible, and to use their knowledge of proper quotation marks in order to
create their short stories. We had some very creative stories by the end of the
period!
After Lunch, Recess, and French, we continued with our UOI
summative assignment, the students have been working so diligently on their safety
brochures, and they really have been putting in their best effort. I am so
excited for all the parents to see the student’s hard work. The brochures
should be finished tomorrow in class, and then the students will informally
present their brochures on Monday.
The presentations are not being formally graded;
they are for the students to have the opportunity to practice their oral
presentation skills.
The students then had second lunch and recess, followed by
music and gym before heading back to complete agendas.
