Happy Monday Parents!

We had a great day back here in grade 3! We began our day with math where we completed our fractions unit test. Students received differentiated tests based on how they performed throughout the unit! So far the tests look good!

For language we discussed comparative and superlative adjectives, we learned about what they are and how they can be used in order to compare different nouns. For example:

"A kitten is small, a hamster is smaller, and a snail is the smallest."

The red word is the regular adjective used to describe the noun, the yellow word is the comparative adjective form, and the green word is the superlative adjective word! Students then completed task cards around the room to compare different nouns!

After lunch, recess, and french the class came back and began working on their summative assignments. They are very excited about the cities/towns they have chosen! Some students will need to do some more research at home and bring in additional information tomorrow to help them fill out their graphic organizers.

Students require information on the following topics:
  • Landforms (urban/rural, is it near any mountains, valleys, hills, or significant land features, for example bodies of water).
  • Jobs (what do people do for work? do they work in service industries or are they farmers etc?)
  • Resources (what do they make in your community? Do they mainly have natural resources-fish, trees, water, minerals?, or are they man-made-steel, plastic etc.)
  • Recreational Activities (what do the people who live in your community do for fun? Do they play outside or go to restaurants? Can you provide examples?)
  • Importance (why is your community important? Are they a large tourist destination? DO they have important natural resources that they provide to other areas? etc.)
  • Other information or fun facts (here you can look up other interesting information)
After second lunch and recess the class ended the day with music and gym before completing agends and heading off to kiss and ride!

Important Information:
  • Read 25 minutes
  • Spelling Lesson 20 due Thursday
  • Bring in any addition summative information (see what is required above)

Have a wonderful evening,
Ms. Glover
