We had such a busy day today in grade 3! We began our day with a math pre-test to assess the students prior knowledge and understanding of our new math unit-fractions!! The students seem to have a good basic understanding of fractions already which will really help us with this new unit! After the pre-test we had time to explore some of the amazing manipulatives we have at SJA to help students understand fractions!
In language we worked on understanding the authors purpose by reading a leveled reader based on DRA scores and then wrote a journal response based on the authors purpose using evidence from the text!
After lunch, recess, and french we spent our UOI period working on our community research group project. Most of the groups finished researching and had time to practice during today's UOI period!
Tomorrow we will present about the different communities!
After second lunch and recess the class had music and gym before completing agendas and heading off to kiss and ride!
